Bayern Munich is reportedly ready to spend big next summer on Bayer Leverkusen forward Kai Havertz.
There are less than two weeks left in the summer transfer window. Bayern Munich has been quiet throughout the summer, working on their top transfer targets. After Manchester City winger Leroy Sane suffered a serious injury, Die Roten has moved quickly to sign Ivan Perisic, Philippe Coutinho and Mikael Cuisance.
Bayern has been determined to build the new spine of the squad after releasing numerous senior players. The German club cannot replace all senior players in one window. Bayern will be looking to add more exciting young talent in next couple of transfer windows.
Kai Havertz is one of these exciting young talents that has been heavily linked with a move to Bavaria. The German forward is set to attract interest from numerous top European clubs. The latest report in Germany suggests that Die Roten is eager to wrap up this deal in the next summer transfer window.
According to SZ, Bayern is to be the likely destination for Havertz next summer. Bayer Leverkusen is aware that Havertz will leave the club next summer. This report also insists that the transfer fee for the German forward will be in the region of €100 million.

SportBild’s Christian Falk has also confirmed that talks have taken place between all parties. However, a deal is far from being done. Havertz was linked with Bayern this summer, but the forward denied these reports. He eventually decided to stay at Bayer Leverkusen for one more season.
The 20-year-old forward is considered as Germany’s next big attacking talent. He enjoyed a prolific 2018/19 season for Bayer Leverkusen as he ended up with 20 goals and six assists across all competitions. The German is at his best in attacking midfield role, but can also be deployed on the left flank. Havertz has emphatically started the new season by scoring against SC Paderborn in the first game of the Bundesliga.
Havertz is likely to be long term replacement of Thomas Muller at Bayern. The latter is on a steady decline as his productivity in the final third has drastically decreased. Havertz has all the attributes to execute Muller’s role in the current squad.
Bayern meanwhile completed the transfer of Coutinho on Monday. The Brazilian forward was unveiled in the media after Die Roten ironed out the final details of this transfer. Coutinho has reported late for pre-season due to participation in Copa America. He is not completely fit yet but should be able to get some game time off the bench against Schalke on Saturday.
