Benjamin Pavard is confident that Bayern Munich will win major trophies in the upcoming season.

Bayern Munich has made a good start to their pre-season preparations by delivering two good performances against Arsenal and Real Madrid. The defeat against Gunners was unfortunate, but the performance was promising. Die Roten’s efforts were very well rewarded against Real Madrid as they cruised to a 3-1 win.

The Bavarians ended the last season strongly by retaining the Bundesliga title. Niko Kovac’s men responded brilliantly in the second half of the season after trailing Dortmund by nine points at the winter break. Bayern went on to complete the domestic double for the first time in three seasons by defeating RB Leipzig in the DFB Pokal final.

Bayern will have a huge task on their hand to defend their titles next season. Benjamin Pavard is confident that he will be able to get his hands on silverware in his debut season for Die Roten. Speaking to media on Sunday (via Goal), Pavard admitted that there is a good feeling amongst the squad about the upcoming season.

"“Of course, it’s a very big club, which has a habit of winning a lot of titles.”“I have a lot of confidence. There is a very good atmosphere. On the pitch, we can see that everyone takes pleasure. We are making every effort together.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Pavard completed a big-money move to Bayern from VfB Stuttgart at the start of July. The French defender is expected to play an important for the Bundesliga champions next season. His versatility will provide Niko Kovac the much needed tactical flexibility.

Kovac was under immense pressure throughout 2018/19 season. The Croatian will have no margin for error next season in the domestic competitions. He will also be expected to deliver better results in the Champions League next season after a pitiful display against Liverpool last season. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has added an extra challenge for Kovac as the club CEO wants the first team to play an exciting brand of football.

The Bavarians have a tough season ahead as Borussia Dortmund have assembled a formidable team by signing some of the best talents in the Bundesliga. Die Roten is also looking to overhaul their squad and add some young players to build a team for present and future.

The acquisitions of Lucas Hernandez and Pavard are a step in the right direction, but Die Roten still need at least two more signings before the end of the transfer window. Bayern is currently trying to address the attack and midfield department of the squad.  The market has been difficult for Die Roten due to the inflated transfer fees demanded for their primary transfer targets.
