Bayern Munich is not ready to give up on Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi as the German club is set to lodge a second bid for the teenager.
The search of an elite wide player continues for Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga Champions are looking for top young wingers in the market that can fill the void left by Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. In an ideal scenario, Die Roten would have liked to complete their business by now, but the inflated transfer fees are making it difficult to get the deals over the line.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is one of the prime transfer targets for Bayern. The English teenager is rated highly by Die Roten and consider him to be an ideal addition to their attacking department. However, the talks with Chelsea have been difficult as they do not want to lose the most talented player of their youth academy.
The German champions reportedly had a bid rejected last month for the England international. According to Daily Mail, Bayern is set to test Chelsea’s resolve once again with a much-improved bid for Hudson-Odoi. This report insists that the second bid will be close to £45 million. SportBild in Germany has also suggested that Bayern is set to make a new bid for the England international.

Bayern made a relentless effort to sign Hudson-Odoi in January window. The German club made numerous bids for the teenager but Chelsea refused to sell him midway through the season. Hudson-Odoi also tried to force a move by handing the transfer request.
Maurizio Sarri eventually gave Hudson-Odoi regular gametime in the second half of the season. The teenager delivered impressive performances during this phase but had an abrupt end to the season after suffering an achilles injury in April. Bayern kept on insisting that they will try to sign Hudson-Odoi in summer despite the injury setback.
On the other hand, Chelsea became confident about extending Hudson-Odoi’s contract. There were reports in England suggesting that the two parties are close to reaching an agreement. The English club desperately wants to keep him due to their transfer ban and departure of Eden Hazard.
Bayern has surely received some sort of encouragement from the player in order to improve their offer. The German club will be able to sign Hudson-Odoi in January on a pre-contract if Chelsea fails to extend his contract. Hudson-Odoi will be a fine addition to Bayern’s squad, but he is likely to be out of action till September. The Bavarians should try to get another young winger to solidify their attack.
