Bayern Munich make a move for Wellington Phoenix’s Sarpreet Singh
Bayern Munich is reportedly closing on the signing of Sarpreet Singh from Wellington Phoenix.

Along with making radical changes to coaching setup in youth teams, Bayern is also focusing on adding young talent to these junior teams.
The Bundesliga champions were linked with a move for Chievo’s Emanuel Vignato last week. Vignato is likely to play with the reserves team if the transfer materializes. The latest reports in Germany are linking Bayern with yet another exciting midfield talent.

Singh is considered as the best young talent coming from New Zealand. His performances during the U-20 World Cup attracted a lot of interest from different European clubs. The 20-year-old midfielder enjoyed a fantastic season in A-League for Wellington Phoenix. His contribution in the final third was impressive as he ended the league campaign with five goals and seven assists.
The Kiwi midfielder will not be involved in the first team straightaway if this transfer is completed. He is likely to be involved with the Bayern Munich II squad next season. It is a fantastic opportunity for the young midfielder as he will continue his development at one of the biggest clubs in Europe.
Bayern has been trying to poach young talent from different continents in the past few seasons. They snapped up Alphonso Davies from Vancouver Whitecaps last year for then record fee for a MLS player. The German club also signed Chris Richards on a permanent transfer from FC Dallas after the young defender delivered impressive performances during the initial loan spells.
The next important step for Die Roten in this recruitment policy is to steadily develop these players and integrate them into the first team. The transfer market is inflated and signing top players is getting difficult even for the big clubs. This approach of signing exciting talent from different parts of the globe can reap rewards for Bayern in the future.
