Bayern Munich has reportedly reached an agreement to bring in Hansi Flick as the replacement for Peter Hermann.

There are going to be numerous structural changes at Bayern Munich this summer. The German club has already decided to make coaching changes in the youth teams. Sebastian Hoeness has taken over the coaching role of Bayern Munich II while the club is in talks with Miroslav Klose for the head coach role of the U-19 team.

The coaching staff of the first team will also have a new addition this summer. Peter Hermann decided to end his tenure at Bayern after the DFB Pokal win last month. The German coach has enjoyed a lot of success as assistant manager of the first team over different spells at the club.

According to Kicker, Bayern Munich has finalized a two-year contract with Hansi Flick for the assistant manager role. Flick will start his tenure at the Bundesliga champions from July 1. Niko Kovac was eager to get this deal over the line before the start of pre-season.

More from Bayern Strikes

Flick has enjoyed a decent spell at Bayern Munich during his playing days. However, he is more famous for his good work with the German national team. Flick was the assistant manager of Joachim Low for a period of eight years from 2006 till 2014. He was promoted to the role of Sporting Director of the German team in 2014.

The German coach has been praised by Low on numerous occasions for his work with the senior team. Bayern Munich will be hoping that Flick will have a similar impact at the club as he had on the national team. Flick is the second assistant coach in the current setup as Roger Kovac has been also deployed in the same position.

Kovac has been subject to a lot of criticism throughout his debut season in Bavaria. There was a lot of talk in the German media regarding the unrest in the dressing room under Kovac. The Croatian eventually finished with three trophies in his first season and the club decided to stick with him for next season.

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge wants the first team to play an attractive style of football along with winning the silverware. Along with satisfying this demand from the club chief, Kovac also has to improve his ideas against elite clubs in the Champions League. Flick will add a lot of experience in the coaching setup which could eventually prove vital for Kovac next season.
