The Portuguese midfielder is pushing for a move away from Bayern Munich after a frustrating season under Niko Kovac.
Bayern Munich has started addressing future of the fringe players in the squad. Earlier this week, the German champions announced the departure of Mats Hummels. The German center-back will return to Borussia Dortmund. James Rodriguez is the other high profile departure Bayern announced this month.
There are going to be few more players in the current squad that might not be playing in Bayern colors next season. Renato Sanches is one of these players that are angling for a move away from the club in this summer transfer window.
According to SportBild, Sanches is still determined to seal a permanent transfer away from Bayern. This report also insists that Sanches would prefer a move to Paris Saint Germain. The French club made a move for him in January but the Bundesliga club was not ready to sell him in the middle of the season. Uli Hoeness still remains a massive fan of Sanches but accepts the fact that a transfer this summer is best for the player.

The Portuguese midfielder was thinking about leaving the club last summer. There were reports suggesting that he might go back to Benfica on loan in order to kickstart his career. However, Kovac urged the club to keep him as he was confident of extracting the best out of the 21-year-old midfielder.
Sanches was happy to stay at the club and repay the faith shown in him by Kovac. He started the season on a promising note by scoring his first competitive goal for the club against Benfica in the Champions League. However, after the initial promise, the gametime for Sanches continued to decrease as the season went on.
The Portuguese midfielder has publicly aired his frustration about lack of playing time under Kovac on a couple of occasions in the last few months. His gametime will decrease significantly next season as the Bavarians want to sign a world-class holding midfielder this summer.
Sanches has no intentions of going on loan again after the disastrous spell at Swansea City in 2017/18. The former Benfica midfielder wants a permanent transfer and Bayern will also favor this outcome as his current contract with the club expires in 2021. It’s a shame that Bayern couldn’t see the best out of Sanches in Germany. The player now needs a change of scenery to get his career back on track after a disappointing spell at Bayern.
