Hasan Salihamidzic confirms the reports that Bayern Munich wants to appoint Miroslav Klose as the coach of the U-19 team.
Bayern Munich is planning to make some structural changes in the youth teams this summer. The club has already appointed Sebastian Hoeness as the coach of Bayern Munich II. Hoeness was given this role after Holger Seitz left the reserves team to join the club’s academy team management.
The German club is now eager to find an appropriate coach for the U-19 team. There have been numerous reports that Miroslav Klose will be given this role. The former German striker became the coach of U-17 team after signing a two year deal with Bayern Munich in 2018.
Speaking to Kicker, Hasan Salihamidzic has confirmed that the club has offered Klose the job of coaching the U-19 team. The German striker is yet to give his nod for this position but Salihamidzic is confident that he will eventually accept this offer.
"“I have more confidence in Miro, so far he has done a very good job.”“We do not want to lose him in any case. I know he would like to work with the U 17 for another year, but we need him on this position at the U19 in our training system.”"

Klose enjoyed a tremendous debut campaign with the U-17 team. The youth team finished first in the league competition and enjoyed a decent run in the cup competitions. The former German international has impressed the club hierarchy with his coaching style. Klose will be expected to have a similar impact on the U-19 team next season if he accepts this role.
Die Roten have some of the most promising coaches at different levels. These coaches have been achieving a lot of success with the junior teams. Moreover, young players are also developing well in these teams. However, the players from these junior teams have struggled to break into the first team.
Bayern needs to rethink the process of integrating these players in the first team. The loan moves for these players need to be planned properly so that they are involved in the first team action at the right time. The Bundesliga champions would ideally like to have some of these talented young players become key players for the first team in the future.
Apart from restructuring youth teams, Bayern will also be making some key changes in the boardroom by the end of next season. Oliver Kahn is expected to join the board at Bayern by the start of 2020. The German goalkeeper recently admitted that he is holding advanced talks with the club regarding his return. He is expected to initially take a leadership role at the club. Kahn is eventually expected to succeed Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in the CEO position.
