Bayern Munich is reportedly interested in signing Ozan Kabak from VfB Stuttgart.
The season ended on a positive note for Bayern Munich but the defensive problems persisted for them throughout the year. The German champions have decided to address these issues by spending big on Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez.
Die Roten is expected to make space for these two French defenders by selling one of their senior defenders. Jerome Boateng is likely to leave the club this summer after Uli Hoeness advised him to find a new club. The German has been linked with Paris Saint Germain and Inter Milan.
There have been some interesting developments regarding the future of Mats Hummels in the past week. Borussia Dortmund is interested in resigning Hummels and the defender is also ready to make the switch. Bayern finds themselves in a peculiar situation right now as they might have to dive into the market for another center-back.

According to Turkish outlet TRT Spor, Bayern Munich are interested in signing Ozan Kabak if Hummels and Boateng leave the club. The 19-year-old defender is available for €15 million this summer after Stuttgart were relegated to the second division. FC Schalke is another Bundesliga club that is also keen on signing Kabak.
However, the information from Sky Sports in Germany regarding Kabak is a bit different. The German outlet insists that Bayern is interested in the defender but they are yet to bid for him. This report suggests that AC Milan is in advanced negotiations for the Turkish defender while FC Porto and Monaco are also interested in the young center-back.
Kabak left Galatasaray to join Stuttgart in January 2019. The Turkish international is considered one of the top defensive talents in Europe. Stuttgart struggled throughout the season but Kabak was impressive in his first six months at the club. He eventually won the Bundesliga Rookie of the year despite playing only six months in the league. Bayern was linked with a move for Kabak before he joined Stuttgart, so their interest in the player right now doesn’t come across as a major surprise.
Bayern will surely increase the quality of depth in the center-back position if they manage to sign Kabak. This transfer will not be exactly ideal for the player, though. Kabak needs regular gametime right now and he is likely to get it at the other clubs mentioned above. On the other hand, Bayern should consider giving more minutes to Lukas Mai next season instead of signing another defender.
