Bayern Munich are reportedly no longer keen on signing Hakim Ziyech from Ajax in the summer transfer window.

The summer transfer window is just around the corner, and Bayern Munich are on track to complete a major squad overhaul. Die Roten are looking to make a few additions in attack to add more depth, with both Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery leaving the club in the summer.

There have been numerous wide players linked with Bayern throughout this season, but the Bavarians have not officially commented on any player.

Hakim Ziyech is one attacking player who has been linked with a summer move to Munich. However, the latest report from kicker suggests the Bavarians are not considering a move for the Moroccan winger. Their report claims that Die Roten are considering other options after their primary transfer target Callum Hudson-Odoi suffered a serious injury last week, but Ziyech is not one of them.

More from Bayern Strikes

Ziyech has been in fantastic form for Ajax this season. The 26-year-old Moroccan international can fill in at numerous attacking positions. His output in the final third has been impressive, making him one of the deadliest wide players in Europe this season. Ziyech was close to leaving Ajax in January, and he is almost certain to leave the Dutch club this summer.

Bayern Munich might have to look for more attacking players this summer due to the uncertainty surrounding the future of James Rodriguez. Marca reported last week that the Colombian has already told Bayern he doesn’t want to make his transfer permanent in the summer. Ziyech would be a great replacement for James as he is equally effective in a central attacking midfield position.

Bayern have struggled to win the Champions League in the past six years. This summer transfer window is very crucial for Bayern, who are hoping to build a squad capable of going toe-to-toe with Europe’s best teams. Ziyech is not exactly the sort of player who will take the squad to another level, but he surely has the ability to shine at Bayern.

dark. Next. Bayern Munich want Benfica winger Jota, not Nicolas Pepe

Niko Kovac has a big summer to look forward to, but his immediate priority will be finishing his debut season in Bavaria with a domestic double. Bayern had a chance to increase their lead at the top of the Bundesliga on Sunday, but the defending champions only managed to get one point against Nurnberg. The Bavarians will still win the title, though, if they manage to get seven points in their remaining three league games.
