Robert Lewandowski is completely settled at Bayern Munich after pushing for a move away last summer and is keen to end his career at the club.
Bayern Munich found themselves in a bit of a transfer saga last summer when Robert Lewandowski pushed hard to leave the club. The Polish striker sacked his agent and hired Pini Zahavi, hoping to seal a move to Real Madrid. Die Roten remained firm and shut down any chance of their talismanic striker leaving.
Lewandowski was reportedly frustrated with the whole situation. He was heavily linked with Real Madrid, but the Spanish club never made any concrete offers. Things have taken a dramatic turn this season, though, as Lewandowski is now feeling completely settled at Bayern and is no longer actively looking for a move away from the club. Speaking to Welt Am Sonntag (via Goal), Lewandowski admitted that he would like to end his career at Bayern.
"“Everything is going very well here, I’m feeling well and I’m satisfied, the communication between the club is good.“I can play at the highest level for another five to seven years, I’ve been playing for Bayern for a long time. I am fully focused on this season and my future in Munich. Bayern remains one of the top four in Europe, so I’m not thinking of other things.”"

The Polish striker is enjoying life under Niko Kovac. He is Bayern’s top scorer yet again this season, with 29 goals across all competitions. Lewandowski has also become more creative in the final third and is just behind Joshua Kimmich in assists for the club. His numbers have always been impressive throughout his time at Bayern, so there is no surprise he is on track to score 40 goals this season.
Lewandowski was heavily criticized last season for his performances in the big Champions League games. He has delivered in the Champions League this season, but he failed to score against Liverpool at Anfield. The Poland international will be hoping he is able to make amends for it on Wednesday by helping his team win the second leg and reach the quarterfinals of the competition.
Bayern Munich have also shown much more support to the Polish striker when he has been criticized by the media this season. Lewandowski is pleased with this gesture from the club, and his happiness is visible in his performances. He will be backed by the club even more defiantly if he keeps on delivering the goods for Bayern in big games. As it stands, the club is hoping to convince him to sign a new contract that would keep him beyond 2021, when his current contract ends.
Die Roten are looking to plan for the future in the upcoming summer transfer window. Lewandowski will turn 31 next season, so the club will be keen on bringing a young striker to help his workload. There are no doubts that Lewandowski can keep up his performance level for at least three more seasons. However, Bayern need to prepare for life without him while also ensuring he has the right conditions to perform at his best.
