According to Sport Bild information, Bayern Munich have already agreed terms with RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner for a future transfer.
Just a few days ago, Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness gave a revealing interview on German TV’s Doppelpass. After confirming this would be Franck Ribery‘s last season with the club and speculating upon his own future, Hoeness insisted that the Bavarians are in for a big summer.
The Bayern president has long asserted that his club is ready to begin their squad overhaul. Many veteran players will be heading for either retirement or other clubs in the summer, and players like Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez will be joining to help add some much-needed youth and dynamism to Die Roten.
Another name that has long been touted as a future Bayern star is RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner. The 22-year-old was a promising talent at Vfb Stuttgart, but he has excelled in the Bundesliga since joining the Red Bulls and is one of the most sought after names in Germany.

The Bavarians’ interest in Werner has hardly ever been a secret, but a recent report from Sport Bild (subscription required) outlining Bayern’s summer transfer targets lists the Leipzig striker as a primary candidate for a move to Munich in the near future.
Sport Bild suggest Bayern have already reached a personal agreement with Timo Werner and have even negotiated with the player’s agent. The only question is whether he will join this summer for a fee somewhere between €40-60 million or on a free in 2020 when his contract expires. RB Leipzig have previously stated that they would be forced to sell Werner in the summer if he doesn’t sign a new contract, so a move in 2019 seems the more likely scenario.
A few months ago, after losing to the German champions with RB Leipzig, Werner hinted that he would be interested in a move to Bavaria. Though other clubs, primarily Premier League leaders Liverpool, have shown interest in the 22-year-old, his mind seems set on joining the Bavarian giants.
Werner would make a great addition to the Bayern squad. He’s a young, versatile forward who would add depth at multiple positions and be a great player to have for both the present and the future. Given the nearly expired status of Werner’s contract, Bayern should have little issue convincing Leipzig to sell him for €40 million, which wouldn’t be a bad price at all for one of the best young strikers in Europe.
