Bayern Munich target Hudson-Odoi tight-lipped despite transfer request
Callum Hudson-Odoi has reportedly put in a transfer request at Chelsea, but he remains publicly tight-lipped about a potential Bayern Munich move.
Bayern Munich are actively pursuing the signing of Callum-Hudson Odoi from Chelsea in the winter transfer window. Die Roten have already four bids rejected by Chelsea for their highly-rated teenager. The last few days have been quiet on the negotiation front, as Chelsea are still hoping to convince the 18-year-old to stay in London.
Hudson-Odoi is reportedly determined to join Bayern, though, and his stance was proved on Saturday. According to BBC, the young Englishman has handed in a transfer request at Chelsea to ensure his departure.
This report has been backed up by several English media outlets. In Germany, meanwhile, Bild has also confirmed the report, insisting that they believe there is now a 70% chance of Hudson-Odoi joining Bayern this month.

The teenager featured for Chelsea today in their FA Cup clash against Sheffield Wednesday. He scored the Blues’ second goal on their way to a 3-0 win. When asked about his future after the match, Hudson-Odoi simply responded that he couldn’t say anything about a potential move to Bayern Munich.
The outcome of this transfer is likely to arrive sooner rather than later, as the player seems to be pushing hard for a move based on all reports. Chelsea are on the weaker side of negotiations at the moment, too, as Hudson-Odoi has only 18 months left on his current contract.
Bayern’s last bid for Hudson-Odoi was in the region of £35 million. The Bavarians are reportedly going to slightly increase their offer in hopes of sealing a January move.
The Telegraph has suggested that Bayern has given assurances of more playing time to Hudson-Odoi and even promised him the number ten jersey next season after Arjen Robben’s departure.
Die Roten will have a great attacking option for the second half of the season if they land Hudson-Odoi this month. He will get a good amount of time to get used to the playing conditions in Germany and be completely ready for next season. Should they wait til the summer, the German champions would have more competition for Hudson-Odoi’s signature, and they could even run the risk of him extending his Chelsea contract. These are all big factors in Bayern’s determination to get their man this month.

The Frenchman is now set to stay at Atletico Madrid at least until the summer, when Bayern might reignite their interest in the center-back. The next few days will be intriguing as the Bavarians now have a great chance of landing Hudson-Odoi. The teenager has done everything in his power to secure a move. The onus is now on the two clubs to agree on a deal that satisfies all parties.
