Callum Hudson-Odoi remains determined to join Bayern Munich
Callum Hudson-Odoi is reportedly still keen on a transfer to Bayern Munich despite Chelsea’s latest contract offer of £85,000 a week.
Bayern Munich have endured a mixed transfer window, as they embark on a new era at the club. The German champions are looking to sign multiple young players to freshen up the squad, as a handful of veteran players are set to leave at the end of the season.
Die Roten have already secured the signing of Benjamin Pavard for next season and are now trying to secure a couple more players this month.
Callum Hudson-Odoi is the most likely signing the Bavarians will be able to complete in January. They are working hard to reach an agreement with Chelsea for the English forward, but the Blues remain stubborn and hope to convince their player to stay. Bayern have publicly expressed their interest in the winger on multiple occasions, though, and are ready to make him a big part of their plans going forward.

According to the latest update from Sky Sports, Hudson-Odoi has rejected an improved contract offer from Chelsea. The teenager has set his eyes on a move to Bayern Munich and is ready to reject all contract renewal offers from the English club. Hudson-Odoi has 18 months left on his present contract at Chelsea and will wait out his time if he has to.
Bayern had three bids rejected for the teenager, while their fourth bid is reportedly in the region of £35 million. Hasan Salihamidzic insisted on Friday that both clubs are still in talks to conclude this transfer soon.
The Bavarians have the upper hand in the negotiations right now, as Chelsea will have to sell him at a lower price in the summer due to his contract situation.
The London-based club have taken steps in order to convince Hudson-Odoi to stay at the club, however. Maurizio Sarri has given him more game time over the past month compared to the initial few matches of the season. However, the Italian still prefers Willian and Pedro in the Premier League games. The impending arrival of Christian Pulisic in the summer will also further reduce the 18-year-old’s chances at first team action.
Bayern have surely sold their project to Hudson-Odoi in a perfect manner. All reports suggest he is totally sure the Bavarian capital is the best place for his future. The Germans have reportedly even promised him the number ten jersey, which will be vacated by Arjen Robben in the summer. Furthermore, Jadon Sancho’s development at Borussia Dortmund will only provide him further inspiration that a move to Germany would be promising for his career. The ball is firmly in Hudson-Odoi’s court as both Bayern and Chelsea continue to vie for his future.
