Former Borussia Dortmund scout Sven Mislintat has fallen out at new club Arsenal, and Bayern Munich now hope he can be lured to the Bavarian capital.

We’re halfway through the January transfer window, and Bayern Munich have not made any new additions to their squad beyond Canadian wonderkid Alphonso Davies. They have, however, been linked with a few moves, and it remains to be seen if those will pan out.

The Bavarians were heavily linked with a move for Lucas Hernandez at the beginning of the transfer window, but it now looks as if they’ll have to wait til the summer if they are intent on signing the France international. Meanwhile, they are still negotiating with Chelsea over a potential transfer of 18-year-old Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Bayern are reportedly not only interested in improving their first team squad, though. According to the Independent’s Miguel DelaneyDie Roten want to hire former Borussia Dortmund scout Sven Mislintat, who has fallen out with his bosses at Arsenal.

More from Bayern Strikes

ESPN’s Raphael Honigstein confirmed reports that Mislintat is unhappy at Arsenal, his sources suggesting Mislintat is already set to leave Arsenal after some disagreements with the club. Delaney reports that Bayern feel they will be able to bring in the 46-year-old before the season’s end.

Mislintat has played a large part in Borussia Dortmund’s success over the past few years, bringing in players such as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele. At Arsenal, he oversaw the signings of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira over the summer.

Part of Mislintat’s falling out reportedly came from Arsenal’s refusal to consider signing a few big players he strongly recommended.

It’s no surprise to see Bayern Munich interested in bringing Mislintat to the club. This wouldn’t be the first time the Bavarians attempted to bring him to Munich.

It wouldn’t be surprising to see him come to Bavaria either. If he leaves Arsenal, there will be plenty of top clubs hoping to bring him in. Unless he wants a return to Borussia Dortmund, a move to Bayern Munich makes the most sense.

Die Roten are currently in a period of rejuvenation, and Mislintat would make a great addition to the staff at Sabener Strasse.
