Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has reportedly started negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain to sign Adrien Rabiot.
Hasan Salihamidzic has been a busy man in the last few days, as he is working hard to secure some new signings for Bayern Munich. The German champions have already announced the signing of Benjamin Pavard from VfB Stuttgart for next season. Die Roten have now reportedly switched their attention to Pavard’s fellow countryman Adrien Rabiot.
According to RMC Sport, Bayern Munich have made a late move to sign Rabiot from Paris Saint-Germain. The Bavarians are eager to sign the French midfielder in this window, despite the fact that he will be a free agent in the summer.
Rabiot, meanwhile, has reportedly already agreed personal terms with Barcelona for a future transfer. Salihamidzic is in contact with the player’s agents in hopes of convincing the player to sign for Bayern in this window.

This report from France has been well supported by Sport Bild in Germany, who also insist that Bayern’s interest is real and claim the club is trying to secure a deal in this transfer window. Juventus and Barcelona have also made contact with PSG in order to secure a deal for Rabiot, which dampen the Germans’ chances of signing the 23-year-old.
PSG have given up all hope of convincing Rabiot to sign a new deal. The Frenchman holds all the cards right now, as multiple top clubs are showing interest in him. He is likely to choose the club which offers him more game time and a better wage package.
Bayern will have to fork out a small fee for Rabiot if they continue to insist on signing him in this window. PSG, however, would prefer to sell him in January than lose him on a free in the winter, so their asking price may not be too high.
Rabiot can play multiple positions in midfield. THe has the passing range to orchestrate play from a deeper position, but he can also be the engine of the team by playing in a box-to-box midfield role. Niko Kovac would likely use him in a deeper role, which would allow Joshua Kimmich to remain at right-back.
Bayern Munich are acting quickly in the transfer market, as they continue to rebuild their aging squad. Rabiot’s potential arrival is likely to end Javi Martinez’s time at the club. Die Roten are reportedly ready to listen to offers for the Spaniard in summer, who has been linked with a move to his former club Athletic Bilbao. Bayern are slowly building a French contingent at the club and Rabiot is looking likely to be the latest member of this group.
