Bayern Munich are reportedly showing interest in signing English youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea.
Bayern Munich are in need of a squad refresh and will be looking to bring in some fresh, young talent in the upcoming transfer windows. The club scouts are monitoring many young forwards across the top five leagues in Europe.
The Bavarians have apparently turned their eyes to England and its wealth of young talent, as many Premier League clubs are failing to give necessary game time to these players. According to a report from Daily Mirror, Bayern are showing great interest in Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi. The 18-year-old is considered one of the most talented teenagers in England.
Maurizio Sarri has failed to give Hudson-Odoi regular game time at Chelsea due to the many other attacking stars higher up than him on the totem pole at the London club.

His current contract at the club expires in 2020. Chelsea have reportedly offered him a new contract, but the youngster has not yet accepted it. It’s likely he gets sent on loan during the January transfer window.
Hudson-Odoi can play anywhere across the front three, but his primary position is on the left wing. The Englishman can also play the number ten role just behind the striker. He has great pace and trickery along with a knack for making good decisions in the final third. Hudson-Odoi has also represented England at youth level on a regular basis.
Bayern have already shown immense trust in Alphonso Davies, who became the most expensive transfer from MLS. The Bavarians are also reaping the rewards of buying a teenage Kingsley Coman from Juventus a few years ago.
Coman has been unfortunate with injuries over the past few seasons, but he is one of the best young wingers in Europe when completely fit. Hudson-Odoi could also be a positive signing for Bayern Munich, but he will require a lot of patience in order to fulfill his complete potential.
There has been a few success stories for English players in the Bundesliga this season. Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson have been delivering excellent performances for Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim, respectively. Hudson-Odoi also has the potential to achieve a similar level of success if he gets regular game time. He will have to fight for a place at Bayern, but after the departure of veterans Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben in the summer, he will likely be optimistic about getting more minutes with Bayern than Chelsea.
