Kai Havertz, Luka Jovic on Bayern Munich transfer list
Bayern Munich are monitoring Bundesliga youngsters Luka Jovic and Kai Havertz as potential transfer candidates next summer.
Uli Hoeness recently confirmed Bayern Munich could be in for some big changes next summer. He denied any winter transfer business but claimed the Bavarians could change the face of their squad significantly the following summer.
With age finally catching up with veteran duo Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben and their contracts expiring in June, Bayern will no doubt make offensive firepower a priority in the transfer market.
Other stalwarts of the Bavarian squad, such as Thomas Muller, Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels, Javi Martinez and Rafinha (whose contract also expires in June), have also disappointed to various degrees in recent seasons. Any — or many — of them could find themselves on the outs in the summer as well.

Bayern have apparently already identified a few players who could help usher in a new era at the club as well. According to Kicker, the Bavarians are monitoring Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic (20). Ante Rebic (25) was previously in the club’s spotlight, but his younger teammate has taken over.
Bayer Leverkusen’s teenage wonderkid Kai Havertz is another player on Die Roten‘s radar. The versatile attacking midfielder is tipped to be one of the stars of his generation. He’ll move to one of Europe’s larger clubs sooner or later, and Bayern would be disappointed to miss out on such a talent.
Kicker further adds that the Benjamin Pavard (22) transfer is already a done deal. The Frenchman will join for €35 million next summer, but he may not be the club’s only defensive signing. They are still keeping their eye on Hoffenheim’s Kevin Vogt (27) as well.
The article also gives an update on James Rodriguez’s situation in Munich. Bayern’s war chest currently stand at around €200 million, but this doesn’t include the €42 million they would need to spend to make James a permanent member of the squad. Interestingly, however, Kicker reports that Bayern are not currently planning on activating the transfer clause anyway.
As for Havertz and Jovic, they would both be solid signings for Bayern Munich. The former would provide an excellent, versatile attacking midfield option for years to come. The latter, whose nine goals lead the Bundesliga this season, still has some proving to do but could make a fine replacement for Robert Lewandowski in the coming seasons.
Though a generally reliable source, Kicker have been a bit hit or miss in recent years when it comes to Bayern news, so take these rumors with a grain of salt. While it is imaginable to see the club pursuing Havertz and Jovic, it wouldn’t make sense for them not to sign James permanently.
Even if Bayern do move for these two starlets, though, they’ll surely make a move for a more experienced player to add an immediate impact to their attack. Someone like Paulo Dybala, Anthony Martial or Nabil Fekir — each of whom have been linked with the club in the past — would make an immediate impact on the squad, while still providing something for the future.
