Even with a few big names out due to injury, Bayern Munich will be well represented by 11 players during the international break.

Germany

Typically, the core of Bayern Munich‘s international representatives will be made up of a host of German stars. Manuel Neuer will continue to serve as captain for country just as he does for club. Veterans Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng will join their skipper in their upcoming games against the Netherlands and France.

Joshua Kimmich — who could very well feature as a defensive midfielder — and Niklas Sule will be joined by fellow youngster Serge Gnabry, who hasn’t featured for the German national team in some time.

New Bayern signing Leon Goretzka received a call-up from Joachim Low, but a slight injury will keep him in Munich over the next week-and-a-half.

More from Bayern Strikes

Spain

La Furia Roja take on Wales on Thursday, and Bayern midfielder Thiago Alcantara will be hoping to make Luis Enrique’s starting XI. The Bavarian’s number six has been great this season playing in a deeper role and will surely be hoping his solid form carries over into his national team performances.

Poland

Robert Lewandowski continues to blow hot and cold in 2018. He has failed to score in his past three matches and was completely invisible in his last outing against Borussia Monchengladbach. The Bayern number nine will hope to get back to his goal-scoring ways, however, over the international break.

He won’t have it easy, though. Poland face two tough matches over the course of the next week. They first face Euro 2016 winners Portugal on Thursday, then Italy on Sunday. Lewandowski will have to be at his absolute best if his national side is to walk away from either game with more than a point.

Portugal

Renato Sanches has been one of the few highlights of the season for Bayern Munich. The Portuguese youngster has been genuinely impressive in his few games, earning yet another call-up to his national side.

Sanches was an instrumental figure for his nation in their Euro 2016 conquest. Competition for a midfield spot will be tough, but his recent form suggests he has what it takes to earn back his place.

Next. Mats Hummels is confident Bayern Munich will bounce back soon. dark

Colombia

Last but not least, James Rodriguez will represent Bayern with the Colombian national team in their matches against the United States and Costa Rica. James is reportedly very unhappy with his situation in Bavaria. Perhaps a couple impressive displays with Los Cafeteros will be enough to convince Niko Kovac the man on loan from Real Madrid should be a mainstay in the Bayern midfield.
