Thomas Muller: Bayern Munich want to dominate Bundesliga again
Bavarian star Thomas Muller doesn’t care for an interesting title race, wants Bayern Munich to dominate the Bundesliga yet again this season.
The Bundesliga has witnessed frantic starts for most of the teams. Bayern Munich is one of the three teams to have won both of their first two league games. The German champions had to work hard for the win against Hoffenheim, while it was a thumping victory for them against Stuttgart last weekend.
Bayern remain the firm favorites for the Bundesliga title this season. The Bavarians have dominated Bundesliga in this decade. While talking to Bild, Thomas Muller insisted that he is not interested in having a close title race. Despite what many fans of the league desire, Muller would rather his club waltz to a seventh consecutive Bundesliga title.
"“We want to march in front again and dominate the league.“It’s clear that we have the potential for it. We are not Bundesliga fans. We are the players. Thus, we must ensure that there will be as little excitement as possible.”"

The Bundesliga has declined in the past several seasons, as other top clubs have failed to improve or find any sort of consistency. Borussia Dortmund was the last team to overcome Bayern for the title of German champions, doing so under Jurgen Klopp in 2012.
Bayern Munich were in trouble last season after a difficult start under Carlo Ancelotti. The Bavarians were not top of the table when the Italian lost his job. Jupp Heynckes replaced Ancelotti on an interim basis, though, and helped Bayern clinch another Bundesliga title. Their poor start to the season was ultimately inconsequential, as they won the title race by 21 points.
This lack of competitive edge in the Bundesliga has hurt Bayern in Europe. The team remains untested for most of the domestic campaign. This is one of the reasons Bayern haven’t reached a Champions League final since 2013.
Bayern Munich have also been accused of killing the competition by buying players from their rivals, but that argument is nonsense. The German champions have remained quiet in the summer transfer window. Leon Goretzka was the sole signing for the Bavarians as the German midfielder’s contract expired at Schalke. Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have invested a decent amount of money this summer, however. These two clubs will be expected to challenge Bayern for the Bundesliga title this season. A healthy title race will only help the Bundesliga compete with other European big leagues.
Muller also further added that all the players are motivated at Bayern to achieve success this season. Niko Kovac has admitted that he will regularly rotate his players to give ample amount of gametime to everyone. The Croatian wanted a smaller squad, and Bayern fulfilled his wish by selling Arturo Vidal, Sebastian Rudy and Juan Bernat in the summer transfer window.
