French giants Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly offered Julian Draxler to Bayern Munich, hoping to gain defender Jerome Boateng in return.
There’s less than a week left in the summer transfer window, but Bayern Munich seem to be far from finished with their transfer business. According to a report in Kicker, Paris Saint-Germain have offered the club Julian Draxler in exchange for Jerome Boateng.
The Parisians have been in pursuit of Boateng for most of the summer. The German confirmed in May that a move abroad could certainly tempt him at this point in his career. Although other clubs, such as Manchester United, have shown interest in the player, PSG have always seemed the favorites if a move pans out.
Bayern, meanwhile, have been linked with Julian Draxler all throughout his young career. Just last summer the club was heavily rumored to be interested in the 24-year-old, in fact.

The Bavarians have never made a move for the talented playmaker, though. If they were interested, surely they would have made a bid for him by now. So why would PSG even make this offer?
Well, just one game into the 2018-19 Bundesliga season, Bayern already find themselves a man down in the attacking department. The club’s best winger, Kingsley Coman, was injured on Friday in his first competitive start since February.
He tore a ligament in his left ankle — the same injury that kept his sidelined for much of last season — and is set for another spell of several months on the sidelines.
It was reported earlier today that Bayern Munich have no plans to bring in another winger, even if Coman could miss half the season. However, a Boateng-Draxler swap deal could prove convincing for the German giants.
If Boateng leaves the club, however, another problem would arise: Bayern would need reinforcements in central defense. Niklas Sule and Mats Hummels would remain the only experienced, true center-backs.
Javi Martinez and David Alaba can do a good job there — particularly the former — but are better suited elsewhere on the pitch.
Although this move could be tempting for Bayern, especially in light of Coman’s injury, it may not be the best option going forward. That is unless they plan to also bring in a replacement for Boateng in central defense. If that’s the case, this could be a good move for all parties involved.
