Renato Sanches will fight for his place at Bayern Munich
Young midfielder Renato Sanches is prepared to fight for his spot in the Bayern Munich squad after two disappointing seasons.
Renato Sanches has been grabbing all the headlines in the past few days. The Portuguese midfielder started the pre-season tour on a perfect note by delivering a man of the match performance against Paris Saint-Germain.
Bayern Munich are reportedly not looking to offload the 20-year-old midfielder in this transfer window, despite their crowded midfield. Niko Kovac is instead hoping to help Sanches return to form and make him an important player for the Bavarians.
The Croatian manager has shown much eagerness to help the youngster fulfill his potential at Bayern. While talking to media on Monday (via Sport Bild), Sanches insisted that he is ready to fight for his place at the club. The Portuguese international further added that he is a more matured player right now after his loan spell at Swansea City.
"“I’ve become a bit more mature and I’m having fun again. I want to show my strengths at FC Bayern and help the team.“I want to add value to the club and work hard in training everday.”"

Sanches has endured a difficult two year spell since making a big move to Bayern. The Portuguese midfielder was coveted by many big European clubs after a brilliant debut season for Benfica, but chose to join Bayern Munich. However, the young midfielder struggled to find his best form in his first season at the club.
Carlo Ancelotti sent Sanches on a loan spell to Swansea City. The English club was managed by Paul Clement who had previously worked with Sanches at Bayern.
However, this loan move quickly turned disastrous. Sanches struggled with injuries and form for the whole season in the Premier League. He sometimes struggled to make the Swansea starting lineup even when fit.
Bayern Munich will not give up on the young midfielder so easily, though. It is looking likely that Sanches is going to be involved with the first team this season. But he will have to grab his opportunities with both hands, as there are a lot of midfielders at the club right now. If Sanches continues to impress Kovac like he did against PSG, then he could eventually become the main man in midfield for the Croatian manager.

Another young Bayern player is not going anywhere as Kingsley Coman has also dismissed the ridiculous rumors linking him with a discount move to Arsenal. The Frenchman told the press on Monday that he wants to stay at Bayern for a long time, citing his recent contract extension at the club. Bayern Munich are planning for a bright future, and the likes of Coman and Sanches are important players for the club’s vision going forward.
