Veteran winger Arjen Robben recently emerged as a reported target for Serie A side Lazio, but the Dutchman won’t be leaving Bayern Munich this summer.

Arjen Robben is set to go for his tenth pre-season tour with Bayern Munich next week. The Bavarians are looking to offload a handful of players this summer, but Robben is not one of them. However, this has not stopped reports linking him with a move away from the club.

According to a report in Lazionews24, Robben is attracting interest from SS Lazio. The Italian club are currently looking for a wide forward after selling Brazilian Felipe Anderson to West Ham United. The report claimed that the Roman club wanted Robben to come in as a replacement for around €10-15 million.

However, this report was quickly denied by Cittaceleste, who claim that Lazio are not at all looking into the possibility of signing the Dutch forward. Robben’s age and wage demands complicates the potential move, and it would take a massive change of heart for the Italian club to even consider signing him.

More from Bayern Strikes

Earlier this year there was much uncertainity around the future of Robben — along with his partner in crime Franck Ribery — at Bayern. Robben eventually agreed to sign a new one-year contract, though.

This is likely to be his last contract at the club, as he is set to turn 35 next season. It would benefit both the player and club if Robben opts to leave Bayern at the end of this campaign.

Robben has been an important player for Bayern in the past decade. Since joining the German club from Real Madrid in 2009, Robben has won multiple Bundesliga titles. He formed a lethal partnership with Franck Ribery, which allowed Bayern to clinch a historic treble in 2013, when he scored the game-winning goal. Robben has scored a whopping 138 goals in 289 appearances for Bayern in all competitions.

Robben has struggled with injuries throughout recent seasons, though. He has missed many important games due to minor injuries in the past four seasons. When completely fit, Robben still remains a devastating forward, but those moments are becoming increasingly rare. He might play a decisive role for Bayern next season if he is managed properly by Niko Kovac.

Next: Serge Ganbry is the versatile forward Bayern Munich have needed

Bayern Munich are reportedly not looking to add players in the attacking department. Serge Gnabry is set to be part of the squad after a successful loan spell at Hoffenheim. Robben himself has already admitted that he is looking forward to work with Niko Kovac next season too. It would be a huge surprise if Bayern allow Robben to leave the club in this transfer window.
