The 20 year old left-back is not eager to return to Bayern Munich as he wants to complete his loan spell at Werder Bremen.
Bayern Munich defender Marco Friedl is not thinking about returning to the club this summer. The 20-year-old defender is currently on an 18-month loan spell at Werder Bremen. Freidl joined Werder Bremen in the January transfer window and is set to return to Bayern at the end of the ’18-19 season.
The Bavarians have an option to cut short his loan spell and take Freidl on their pre-season tour. While talking to Bild, Friedl admitted that he has already told Bayern he is eager to complete his loan spell at Werder Bremen. Friedl believes that staying at Bremen will aid his development.
"“I have spoken openly with Bayern Munich, which is the best for all sides. I made it clear that I want to fulfill my loan agreement.“I’ll almost certainly stay until 2019. I want to impose myself from next season. I have an important year ahead of me. “"

Friedl was part of Bayern’s first team last season. He went with the first team for the pre-season tour and made his debut for Bayern in the Champions League against Anderlecht.
The Austrian full-back also got some minutes under his belt for Bayern in the Bundesliga. However, after Juan Bernat made his comeback from a three-month injury spell, it was necessary that Friedl got gametime somewhere else. He was able to feature in nine Bundesliga games for Werder Bremen in the second half of the season.
Speaking of Bernat, Bayern are reportedly ready to listen offers for the Spaniard. He has been linked with numerous clubs throughout the past year.
Bernat delivered consistent performances under Pep Guardiola. However, he has struggled to emulate those performances in the past two seasons. Bayern Munich might explore the transfer market to sign a replacement for Bernat as Friedl is set to stay at Werder Bremen.
Friedl is a promising talent coming from Bayern’s academy. But the Austrian left-back is not yet ready to feature regularly in the first team. Friedl will get valuable experience during his stay at Werder Bremen, as he will get much needed gametime in the Bundesliga.

Bayern Munich have struggled to promote younger players to the first team in the past few seasons. The players produced in the academy are finding it difficult to break into the first team. They eventually move to other clubs to find regular gametime at a higher level. Bayern will be hoping that Friedl comes back as a better player from his loan spell and challenges for a place in the starting XI.
