Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller is not ruling out a move away from the club in future, but doesn’t necessarily want a move.

There have been a lot of revealing interviews in the past few weeks by Bayern Munich players. Jerome Boateng recently spoke about his future at the club, while David Alaba’s agent confirmed Real Madrid’s interest (though the Austrian later confirmed his intent to remain in Munich next season). Robert Lewandowski’s agent also confirmed that the Polish striker wants to leave Bayern in the summer.

The latest player to speak about his future at Bayern Munich is Thomas Mulller. While talking to Welt Am Sonntag (via Goal), Muller admitted that he might be tempted to change clubs in the future. However, he further added that he is not actively seeking a new adventure right now, as he is happy as always at Bayern.

"“Another task would certainly be interesting and attractive. If the situation is different, a lot can happen.“Basically, it is very difficult to get away from Bayern. Currently I have no thoughts to do something else.”"

More from Bayern Strikes

Muller has spent his entire professional career at Bayern Munich. The German forward has already won multiple Bundesliga titles and DFB Pokal’s with the club.

He was also a key component of the historic treble winning team in 2013. Muller has remained a key player for the Bavarians irrespective of who is managing the team.

The World Cup winner’s current contract with Bayern expires in 2021. It is unlikely that Bayern are going to entertain offers for him in next few years.

They reportedly rejected multiple big offers from Manchester United in 2015. Louis Van Gaal, who gave him his debut at Bayern, was apparently eager to bring him to Old Trafford.

Muller enjoyed his best season at Bayern under Pep Guardiola in the ’15-16 season, when he scored 32 goals across all competitions. After the Spaniard’s departure, however, Muller’s form dipped and he was a bit disappointing under Carlo Ancelotti. He lost his place in the starting eleven and was left on the bench for numerous big games.

Ancelotti was sacked after a poor start to his second season at Bayern Munich. After the arrival of Jupp Heynckes, Muller slowly regained his good form. He started playing regularly and once again became a pivotal player for Bayern. Muller ended the campaign with 17 goals and 16 assists in all competitions, even ending the season as the Bundesliga’s top provider.

The German international will turn 29 next season. Bayern will no doubt be hoping that Muller has a good World Cup this summer and then comes back guns blazing next season. The Bavarians have not won a Champions League since 2013 and they will need an in-form Muller to taste European success once again.
