Colombian international James Rodriguez is still unsure about his future but remains focused to achieve success with Bayern Munich.
James Rodriguez is focusing on the present rather than thinking about his future at Bayern Munich. The Colombian has been a pivotal player for the German champions in the past few months and is targeting further success with the Bavarians.
James is not ruling out a move back to Real Madrid but insists that he is happy in Germany. While talking to Fox Sports (via Goal), the midfielder also spoke about the club’s chances in the Champions League. He further addressed the other big teams in the Champions League.
"“Back to Madrid? I do not know, in the future you do not know what’s going to happen, you have to think about what’s happening now and this club is my present.“I’m happy at Bayern, I’m playing more and that’s good for me. I’m thinking only of Bayern.”"
Bayern Munich signed James Rodriguez from Real Madrid on a two-year loan deal in the summer. The Bavarians have an option to sign him on a permanent basis for a reported fee of €35 million. James left Real Madrid after struggling to get game time under coach Zinedine Zidane.

Carlo Ancelotti demanded the signing of Rodriguez after working with him at Real Madrid. The Colombian enjoyed his best spell at the Spanish giants under Ancelotti. However, the move to Bayern didn’t materialize for James as he had expected. The midfielder struggled to adjust in Germany and was not able to break into the starting eleven on a consistent basis for several months.
After the departure of Ancelotti in September, James was at a crossroads in Bavaria. The arrival of Jupp Heynckes didn’t exactly improve his chances to get regular gametime. However, an injury to Thomas Muller presented an opportunity for him which he grabbed with both hands. Since then there has been no looking back for James as he has become a pivotal player under Jupp Heynckes.
There were reports going around that Bayern have already decided to take up the option to sign him on permanent basis. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge squashed these rumors, though, and admitted that the club has not made any decision about the future of their Colombian star.

James has frequently said that he feels settled at the club. It is unlikely that he will go back to Madrid. Bayern Munich are probably also waiting for input from their new manager about the midfielder. James is one of Bayern’s key players now, and he was once again decisive against Sevilla earlier this week. The Bavarians have a world class player for a reasonable fee but they are right on their part to avoid rushing into any decision.
