Bayern Munich host Chelsea in the Champions League on Saturday.

After a short break from football, Bayern Munich returns to action on Saturday as they host Chelsea in the second leg of the round of 16. The game was set to take place in March, but the pandemic suspended all European games.

Die Roten currently have a 3-0 advantage over Chelsea, courtesy of superb display at Stamford Bridge in February. Barring any miraculous comeback from the English side, Die Roten should be heading to Portugal to play the rest of the tournament.

Hansi Flick is chasing a historic treble in his first season as Bayern manager. He managed to guide the club to two domestic trophies after enjoying a flawless run of form since the restart. The German manager has been on the money in big games, so a deep run in the Champions League is looking realistic.

Meanwhile, Chelsea come into this game after a deflating end to the domestic campaign. They secured Champions League football next season but suffered a 2-1 defeat against Arsenal in the FA Cup last weekend. With mounting injury issues, Frank Lampard‘s team will need something special to knock Die Roten out of the tournament.
