Team News for Bayern Munich

Bayern suffered another injury blow this week. Kingsley Coman has been ruled out from featuring against Chelsea this weekend. The French winger did train individually on Friday, but Flick is not in a mood to take any risk with him.

The German champions suffered a major blow a fortnight ago. Benjamin Pavard suffered an ankle injury during a training session at Sabner Strasse. The former Stuttgart defender is unlikely to play any game in Portugal. Joshua Kimmich will have to fill in for him.

However, there is good news for Flick on other injuries. Niklas Sule made his return to action against Marseille after being on sidelines for ten months due to a serious knee injury. The German defender will need minutes off the bench to get the match fitness.

Corentin Tolisso has also completely recovered from an injury that kept him out since April. He also got some minutes under his belt against Marseille last week. Thiago Alcantara is also now completely fit to start games after enduring a groin injury in the final few weeks of the Bundesliga. It is a shame that Die Roten suffered an injury to a player who doesn’t have a natural replacement.
