Disappointed: Jamal Musiala (Germany)

It is heartbreaking to see three of the most underwhelming Bayern players this campaign on the same German national team.

Jamal Musiala scored a goal in his first World Cup game this year against Curacao with a fine movement and a top finish.

However, other than that, he has been quite wasteful and inefficient in the final third. He had a lot of great shooting opportunities against Curacao, but missed nearly all of them. His final passes often lack the weight and accuracy to find his teammates.

Musiala also seems to lack the confidence to dribble into defenders and create chances for himself as he did in the 2022 World Cup and the 2024 European Championship.

Nevertheless, looking at his rather subpar outing, it is good to once again reflect on his devastating injury and his journey coming back. I see that he is at 60-70% of what he used to be, and that is a positive note.

Musiala certainly looked better than his performance during the latter stage of the 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign.

Hope that his head will not drop after some disappointing games and continue to work towards returning to his best self.
