Nico Williams

Nico Williams is possibly the most vertically direct player out of the three, possessing outstanding speed and acceleration. The Spaniard can play well both as the primary playmaker and as an off-the-ball pest. These different playstyles are exhibited clearly in his performances at Athletic Club, where he needs to be the main creative output, and at the Spanish national team, where he sometimes needs to take a step back for the Lamine Yamal show. Nevertheless, he always finds moments in the spotlight thanks to his finishing and dribbling. In fact, his six dribble attempts per game are the most out of the three.

The younger Williams brother has made twice as many crosses compared to Leao and four times as many compared to Barcola last season. His crossing prowess also gains him the upper edge in creating chances from dead balls, which can help diversify Bayern's set-piece tactics.

However, Williams' defensive contribution is extremely questionable. The 22-year-old often shows minimal effort on the defensive side of the ball. The eye test probably confirms Nico Williams as an interesting and dynamic attacking superstar. But should the output on offense be enough to neglect his laxity on defense? After all, Nico Williams has the worst statistics out of the three, only having 18 combined goals and assists in all competitions for his club.
