Contract extensions for Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala

Jamal Musiala and Joshua Kimmich have excelled under Vincent Kompany this season. Kimmich has got back to his best after enduring a difficult last season. Meanwhile, Musiala has taken his game to the next level, scoring at an improved rate through different avenues (headers).

Both players are first names on the team sheet for Kompany every week. It is crucial for Bayern to secure the future of both players.

Kimmich’s situation is urgent since he has just over six months left on his contract. The German midfielder is content with life in Munich, but Manchester City and Barcelona are showing concrete interest in him. Bayern have improved their relationship with Kimmich and held positive talks regarding a new deal.

Meanwhile, Musiala has 18 months left on his contract. The 21-year-old attacking midfielder is being followed by every big club in Europe. Bayern are ready to break the bank to make Musiala the face of the club. He has already hinted at signing a new deal, but nothing is done until he puts ink on the dotted line.

Bayern fans will hope that there is a breakthrough in talks with Musiala and Kimmich during the winter break. A double contract extension announcement on Christmas Eve will be sweet.
