The new era of German national team is set to begin in the upcoming international break as Jurgen Klopp gears up for his first game as the head coach of Germany. Bayern Munich players have a key role to play under Klopp, while younger Bayern players are also likely to get call-ups under Klopp.
Tom Bischof is looking to receive his second Germany call-up in the September international break.
Bayern Munich's young midfielder will be part of Jürgen Klopp's plan for the upcoming Nations League fixtures, per Florian Plettenberg.
The 21-year-old returns to the national team after his debut in June 2025 in the Nations League third-place match against France, when he made a 25-minute cameo in a 2-0 defeat. This will be Bischof's first cap with the national team as a Bayern player.
Bischof was tipped to be in Germany's 2026 World Cup squad after an impressive season off the bench for Bayern, but unfortunately failed to make the final cut. Newly appointed head coach Jürgen Klopp is believed to be experimenting with a lot of options in his first few matches with Germany.

German media reported that the former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund head coach would call up an expanded squad for the four Nations League games. The exact size of the squad has not been finalised, but it would be considerably larger than the usual 23-man roster. Klopp would still have to submit his 23-player list ahead of each game, but it looks to change from game to game.
Apart from the star players like Joshua Kimmich, Jamal Musiala and Aleksandar Pavlovic, Klopp is favouring under-23 talents like Bischof. Bayern Munich's Lennart Karl, Nathaniel Brown and Jonas Urbig are expected to receive a call-up. Other top German talents like Noahkai Banks, Said El Mala, Parris Brunner and Younes Ebnoutalib will also be rewarded for their stellar form at the club level.
It is expected to be a full revolution for Germany in preparation for the EURO in 2028 and the World Cup in 2030.
Bischof can become a mainstay in Germany's midfield
Bischof is one of Germany's leading midfield talents and plays for one of the biggest clubs, Bayern Munich. While he has not started many games this season, his performance during the limited minutes should merit him a spot.
The young midfielder's growing maturity and composure on the field, alongside his chemistry with Aleksandar Pavlovic building at club level, make him one of Klopp's ultimate choices to replace the ageing Joshua Kimmich.
Kimmich is still Germany's captain for the next few years, but this call-up shows that Bischof is also ready to take a bigger role.
It will be interesting to see Bayern's young core showing out on the international stage with Jurgen Klopp on the throne, something worth looking out for when Bayern Munich is not playing.
