On Friday evening, Bayern Munich will be looking to bounce back from their first league defeat of the season against Mainz last time out, as they host RB Leipzig for the final Bundesliga game before the winter break.

When you put in a performance as bad as the one last Saturday, it is needless to say that changes need to be made to the starting XI. Here are three changes that should be made to the XI for the big showdown. Sidenote: Alphonso Davies is reportedly not going to be back in time, otherwise he would be in.

What changes should Vincent Kompany make against RB Leipzig?

Sacha Boey for Konrad Laimer

In fairness, the Austrian midfielder has been fairly serviceable so far this season. This is not due to one poor game against Mainz, otherwise there would be close to 11 changes to the XI. It is more about Boey than Laimer himself.

You can understand Kompany managing the Frenchman’s minutes, after his previous injuries – but Friday feels like a good opportunity to start him. He has similar athleticism and ball carrying to Laimer, but is a better passer, and has shown in brief opportunities, that he has really good link up with compatriot Michael Olise down the right hand side.
