Joshua Kimmich

There were several candidates for the final name on this list, but we couldn’t look beyond Joshua Kimmich. The German midfielder arrived in Munich from RB Leipzig in 2015 for a transfer fee worth €7 million. The 20-year-old impressed Pep Guardiola straightaway and made 36 appearances across all competitions in his debut season.

Kimmich has been ever-present in Bayern’s starting XI over the last nine years. He has excelled in central defense, right-back, and midfield for the Bavarian giants. The German international is at his best in the center of the park due to his qualities on the ball. He helps Bayern to dominate possession and has the vision to create chances.

Along with being one of the best midfielders in the world, Kimmich is an exceptional leader. He is tipped to succeed Neuer as the captain soon. The German international has made 408 appearances for Bayern in nine years and scored 42 goals. Kimmich also has 108 assists to his name, including one for the winning goal for Die Roten in the Champions League final against PSG in 2020.

Kimmich has won every possible trophy at Bayern. He is in the prime years of his career and is already a legend at the club. If he ends up signing a new deal, Kimmich may end up with more than 600 appearances for the club. The Bavarian faithful will be thankful for the club taking a punt on a young player from Leipzig in 2015. (Stats courtesy: Transfermarkt)
