Leroy Sane needs to build on the performance against RB Leipzig

It has been a strange year for Leroy Sane. He looked certain to sign a new deal at the start of the year. As things stand, his future in Munich is uncertain due to inconsistency in performances. Sane can talk to interested clubs in January regarding a free transfer move in the summer.

The German winger is eager to stay in Munich, but his performances under Vincent Kompany don’t seem to convince the board to sanction a contract extension. The game against RB Leipzig can become a springboard for Sane to convince the club hierarchy to keep faith in him.

Sane looked dangerous in the final third for Bayern on Friday. He played a crucial role in Bayern’s opening goal in the first minute of the game. Sane had three shots on the goal and created three chances for his teammates. The German winger also did well with the ball, misplacing just two passes in the game.

The 28-year-old rounded off a good performance with a well-taken goal in the second half. The performance against Leipzig should be the reference for Sane going into Ruckrunde. He needs to deliver such type of performances consistently to have a solid chance of staying in Munich beyond the ongoing campaign.
