The first half of the Bundesliga season came to a perfect end for Bayern Munich on Friday. After suffering their first league defeat of the season against Mainz last weekend, Bayern bounced back with an emphatic 5-1 win against RB Leipzig.

Jamal Musiala set the tone for the hosts by scoring in the first minute of the game. Even though RB Leipzig got back in the game quickly through a well-taken goal by Benjamin Sesko, the hosts continued to play with great intensity. Kompany’s men gave no breathing space to the visitors and raced away to a 3-1 lead at halftime.

Leroy Sane and Alphonso Davies scored goals in the final 15 minutes of normal time to seal a comfortable 5-1 win. The scoreline didn’t flatter RB Leipzig at all. On any other day, the score line would have been scarier for Leipzig as Die Roten were relentless in terms of creating chances in the final third.

Courtesy of the win on Friday, Bayern will go into 2025 at the top of the points table. It has been a successful Hinrunde for the record champions as they look close to their best after underwhelming last season. There were several positive takeaways from Friday evening, but we will look at the most important ones for Bayern.
