The win helped Bayern Munich return to second place in the Bundesliga standings. Thomas Tuchel's side find themselves two points clear of VfB Stuttgart heading into the final matchday of the season.

Sunday was a day of farewells at the Allianz Arena, as Bayern Munich said goodbyes to Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting and Bouna Sarr. It was the youngsters who starred for the Bavarians, showing that the future is well and truly bright. Lovro Zvonarek and Bryan Zaragoza both impressed on their starting XI debuts for the home side.

It only took four minutes for Bayern to take the lead. It was Zvonarek who opened the scoring with a fantastic low finish, finding the net from the edge of the box after being well picked out by Alphonso Davies.

The 19 year old also helped make the second goal happen, and Zaragoza was also involved in the build-up. In the end, Leon Goretzka found the roof of the net after being set up by Thomas Müller.

Zaragoza then thought he had his first goal in Bayern colors. But Müller was adjudged to be offside in the build-up and the goal was chalked off.

The second-half was more of the same, with Bayern dominating possession. Müller came close to adding to Bayern's lead, but there were to be no more goals.

Daniel Peretz was given his Bundesliga debut, as he came on for Manuel Neuer with 15 minutes to go. Talented youngsters Matteo Perez Vinlöf and Jonathan Asp-Jensen also came on for their Bayern Munich debuts.
