We conceded twice, but in the end the mentality was good and that's why we won the game. I played football long enough and know that you can lose or draw such a game. Bayern have to be at their best if they want to beat Bayer Leverkusen for the Bundesliga title this season. Xabi Alonso’s team has been outstanding in terms of finding ways to win every weekend. They scored a stoppage-time winner against Borussia Monchengladbach. The defending champions have developed a knack for finding ways to win games when they are not at their best.
Die Roten cannot afford to drop points in the league since the impressive Bayer Leverkusen side keeps churning out wins. The victory against Wolfsburg should be the norm for Bayern and Kompany even when the team is having a bad day. Winning games, even on their bad days, will strengthen Rekordmeister’s case of bringing the trophy back to Allianz Arena.
After a successful day on the road, Bayern will return to Allianz Arena on Sunday for their first home game of the season. They will host Freiburg in their second league game of the campaign. Vincent Kompany will look to build on the positives from the game against Wolfsburg and minimize the errors in the team.
