Vfl Wolfsburg vs Bayern Munich: Bundesliga Matchday 16 Preview
Vfl Wolfsburg
In what seems to be a constant, Bayern will once again face a side that is managed by a former employee of the club. Niko Kovac's time in Munich was short, and he will certainly be looking to get one over on his former employers as he welcomes them to Wolfsburg. Entering Wednesday's match sitting ninth in the table, taking points off of Bayern Munich would go a long way in Wolfsburg's quest for a European spot.
With over 200 appearances for Wolfsburg, the Belgian Koen Casteels has been a regular in goal. There should be no reason to expect anything different on Wednesday.
So far this season, Kovac has got good results with a back three, and while the side will be missing Maxence Lacroix due to the red card he received on matchday 15, this should not alter the back 3 shape. Look for Swiss national teamer Cedric Zesiger to start on the left with Wolfsburg's new signing Moritz Jenz starting central, and Sebastiaan Bornauw on the right.
Ridle Baku should start in the right wingback spot with Joakim Maehle opposite him on the left. Centrally, Mattias Svanberg should get the start in front of the back three along with Maximilian Arnold.
In front of Svanberg and Arnold, I think Kovac will deploy two attacking mids in Yannick Gerhardt and Lovro Majer. In front of Gerhardt and Majer, Jonas Wind should start as the lone center forward.

Score Prediction
Vfl Wolfsburg 0-2 Bayern Munich (Kane x2)
While Wolfsburg have struggled to find goals this season (19 GF), their defense (25 GA) has been able to keep them in a respectable position on the points table. However, the way the Bayern Munich attack has looked in terms of creating chances, I think Wolfsburg will struggle to keep Bayern Munich at bay. The only question is does Bayern Munich finish the opportunities they will create? I turn to Harry Kane to finish off two Bayern goals and the Bayern defense to make it three clean sheets in a row.
