Kim Min-jae

After a torrid first league game of the season, Kim Min-jae delivered a good performance against Freiburg. The South Korean defender looked solid while defending, winning 70% of the duels he contested on Sunday. Min-jae also made six recoveries in the game, helping Bayern to keep a clean sheet.

Since Bayern dominated possession, the South Korean defender was heavily involved while playing out of the back. The 27-year-old defender completed a staggering 115 passes out of 121 passes he attempted on Sunday. He also made six passes into the final third, highlighting what a valuable defender he can be for Kompany with the ball.

Kim Min-jae should look to build on this performance. He is a pivotal member of the starting XI under Kompany. Delivering a solid performance week in and week out should be the goal for him. The next step will be to eradicate the occasional lapses of concentration to become one of the best defenders in Europe.
