Serge Gnabry

It would have been an injustice not to mention Serge Gnabry’s performance against Holstein Kiel . Similar to Musiala, the 29-year-old attacker had a fantastic first half and didn’t return for the second half as Kompany wanted to rest him ahead of a grueling schedule over the next three weeks.

It was Gnabry who set up Kane for Bayern’s second goal. Gnabry was unfortunate not to have made it 4-0 in the 25th minute when he struck the post with a first-time shot after getting on the end of a corner from Joshua Kimmich. The German winger was a menace in the final third, helping Die Roten to apply pressure on the hosts.

So far this season, Gnabry has been arguably Die Roten’s most consistent player. He and Musiala will, no doubt, be looking to impress again on Tuesday when Bayern host Dinamo Zagreb at the Allianz Arena for this season’s Champions League opener. (All stats courtesy: Sofascore).
