Top performers for Bayern Munich from 2-1 win against Eintracht Frankfurt
Thomas Muller
Thomas Muller was heavily involved in Saturday’s game, as reflected in his 69 touches across the pitch. Playing on the right wing, the Ramdeuter gave the Frankfurt defenders a lot to think about. Muller literally took one on the chin, or close to the chin, for the team to earn the penalty. Despite not scoring from his four shots at the goal, his constant movement and timely pressing massively helped Bayern in the final third.
Like Kane, Muller’s passing was on point for most of the game, as he completed 89% of his attempted passes (39/44). In terms of his passing in the final third, he mixed it up well with long balls (2/3) and crosses (3/5). The only thing missing from Muller on the evening was a goal. With Jamal Musiala expected to be back in the starting XI when Bayern host Real Madrid, Muller will have to settle for a place amongst the substitutes. Regardless, he would need to lace up his shooting boots in the event that he is called into action on Tuesday.
