The pre-season training at Bayern Munich started last week. Vincent Kompany was able to meet with players who had several weeks off since they were not involved in Euro or Copa America. The Belgian coach will soon welcome other senior players in a staggered manner by the end of July and the start of August.

Kompany has a significant challenge ahead of him as Bayern look to bounce back from an awful season. The Bavarian club failed to win a single trophy during Thomas Tuchel’s second season. Reaching the semi-final of the Champions League was the only notable achievement for Die Roten.

To get Bayern back on track, Kompany has several issues to address on and off the pitch. The Belgian coach has shown promising signs in terms of implementing an attractive style of football at Burnley. Apart from an entertaining style of football, Bayern have to improve in several aspects to compete on all fronts.
