Míchel (Girona)

Bayern are not specifically looking for coaches that have worked in the Bundesliga. They want to win trophies and play an attractive style of football. With established names not on the market, Die Roten can look at someone like Míchel, who has been one of the best coaches in Europe this season.

The Spanish coach has helped Girona qualify for the next season’s Champions League. At one point this season, Girona was going toe to toe with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona in the Champions League.

Míchel’s Girona have scored 75 goals in La Liga this season, three less than league leaders Real Madrid. With limited resources, the Spanish coach has made sure Girona play attractive football in La Liga and gets the desired results.

There is a good element of risk when it comes to appointing Míchel since he has not managed a top club in his career. However, his work at Girona this season certainly shows his tactical nous. The Spaniard has managed the squad perfectly to achieve Champions League qualification despite going through a difficult run of form during the second half of the season. Girona may not stand in Bayern’s way if Míchel agrees a move to Bavaria.
