Vinicius Jr. vs Joshua Kimmich

Vinicius Jr. was the main man for Real Madrid in the attack during the first leg against Bayern. The Brazilian forward pounced on mistakes made by Die Roten to score twice in the game. Die Roten did well to concede fewer chances to Vinicius Jr., but a couple of lapses in concentration at the back were enough for the Brazilian winger to make an impact.

The 23-year-old winger has the knack of scoring big goals in knockout games for Real Madrid. With home fans behind him, the Brazilian will be a major threat to deal for Die Roten at Santiago Bernabéu. Vinicius has 21 goals and nine assists in 35 appearances for Real Madrid this season.

Joshua Kimmich will defend against Vinicius Jr. on the left flank. The German international has been in fine form while playing as a right-back in the past six weeks. Kimmich cannot match Vinicius’ pace, but he does have astute defensive awareness to be a step ahead of wide players. The winner of this battle on the left flank may end up helping his team win the tie.
