Mohamed Simakan

The first player on the list can be a long-term center-back option for Bayern. The Bavarian club will have to look no further than the Bundesliga to replace Matthijs de Ligt. RB Leipzig’s Mohamed Simakan can be a suitable player for Die Roten to strengthen their defense.

Simakan played regularly for RB Leipzig last season. The French center-back played 31 league games for Leipzig last season. He is a robust defender, winning the majority of his aerial and ground duels against forwards. Simakan is also good on the ball and can help his team to play out from the back. The 24-year-old defender is good at carrying out the ball from the deep to help the progress play. Simakan can also chip in with goals and assists, as he had six goal contributions last season.

The French defender will not need a lot of time to adapt since he has already spent three seasons in the Bundesliga. Simakan is approaching the peak years of his career, making him a perfect long-term option for Bayern. He can be part of Die Roten’s spine for at least the next five seasons.

From a financial point of view, Bayern will have to pay a significant fee (€50-60 million) to sign Simakan since his contract at RB Leipzig expires in 2027. If Bayern wants a long-term right-footed center-back, Simakan will be the ideal fit for them. (Stats courtesy: Whoscored)
