Noussair Mazraoui ahead of Alphonso Davies for the left-back spot

Bayern Munich had two left-backs available for selection on Saturday. Alphonso Davies played the final 20 minutes of the game, while Noussair Mazraoui played for more than an hour.

The Moroccan defender repaid faith from Thomas Tuchel by delivering another solid performance. Mazraoui was tidy on the ball, boasting a passing accuracy of 91% in the game. Along with defending resolutely, Mazraoui also did well at the other end of the pitch by complementing Raphael Guerreiro on the left flank.

Mazraoui started in the second leg of the quarter-final against Arsenal since Alphonso Davies was suspended for the game. The Moroccan defender dealt well with the threat of Bukayo Sake. He was on the bench against Union Berlin last week but came into the lineup against Eintracht Frankfurt.

With Alphonso Davies struggling for consistency in the last couple of months and Mazraoui getting back in form, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if the Moroccan is the preferred left-back against Real Madrid.
