Neuer and defense let Bayern down

For large chunks of the season when Bayern were struggling, a lot of it had to do with a disconnect between midfield and defence. On matchday 34, Manuel Neuer was uncharacteristically error prone particularly when playing the ball with his feet. His apparent lack of focus did little to get the best out of the defense and ultimately had a knock-on effect on the midfield which led to cheap goals being conceded.

Neuer would need to come back next season with a renewed focus as his ball playing abilities are an important aspect of Die Roten’s overall play.
