Bayern Munich face their first significant challenge in the quest for the Bundesliga title on Saturday when they host defending champions Bayer Leverkusen.

Vincent Kompany has got off to a perfect start to life at Bayern. The Belgian coach has managed to extract performances and results early in the season. His biggest test until now will come against Xabi Alonso, a coach Bayern tried to sign at the end of last season.

There has been no significant hangover from the title win for Bayer Leverkusen. Apart from a narrow defeat against RB Leipzig on matchday two, Alonso’s men have looked impressive this season. They look a bit vulnerable defensively but have the attacking prowess to outscore the opposition. A win on Saturday will take Leverkusen level on points with Bayern in the Bundesliga.

Bayern will be without Sacha Boey, Hiroki Ito, and Josip Stanišić for the clash against Bayer Leverkusen. Kompany and Bayern are confident that Manuel Neuer will be fit for the game. Meanwhile, Matthys Tel has resumed team training after missing a couple of sessions this week. The French forward will be in the matchday squad.

Let us look at the possible lineup Vincent Kompany will use to help Bayern Munich maintain their 100% winning start to the season.
