Manuel Neuer could stay at Bayern Munich beyond 2025

Despite recently calling time on his career with the Germany national team, Manuel Neuer could yet stay at Bayern Munich for two more years.
Regarded as one of the best goalkeepers of all time, Manuel Neuer decided to retire from Germany duty earlier this week. The 38 year old called time on his national team career after winning 124 caps for his country. But he is not thinking about calling it quits at club level just yet.
Manuel Neuer to extend Bayern Munich career beyond 2025?
This is being reported by Sky Sport, and the report adds that it is considered possible that Neuer could extend his stay at Bayern beyond the end of the current season. The goalkeeper's contract is set to expire at the end of the current campaign, but he could well be open to staying at Bayern until 2026.
How he fares this season will likely dictate Neuer's future plans at Bayern Munich. The 2014 World Cup winner will be determined to lead Bayern to the Bundesliga title after missing out last season. He has made a total of 522 appearances for the club so far.
When Neuer does decide to call time on his Bayern career, those in charge already have a replacement in place. The Bavarians are planning to replace the legendary goalkeeper with Alexander Nübel, who signed a contract extension with the club earlier this year.
After impressing on loan at VfB Stuttgart last season, Nübel will also spend the next two seasons with Sebastian Hoeneß' side. Then a return to Bayern Munich could finally be on the cards for the former Schalke 04 and AS Monaco goalkeeper.
