Manchester United are in advanced talks to sign Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui, whose proposed transfer to West Ham United has seemingly collapsed.

West Ham United were said to be on the verge of signing Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich, but the transfer has fallen through. This is being reported by Sky Sport, who add that Manchester United are now aiming to get the signing of the Morocco international over the line.

Talks are said to be at an advanced stage between the two parties, and Mazraoui would reunite with his former manager Erik ten Hag if the move goes through.

Manchester United eyeing two Bayern Munich defenders

Bayern Munich had an agreement in place with West Ham over a transfer fee of around 15 million euros plus bonuses. They will hope to receive a similar fee from Manchester United for the right-back, who is free to leave the club this summer.

Mazraoui joined Bayern Munich two years ago but has not been able to make the desired impact on a consistent basis. And with Josip Stanisic, Sacha Boey, and Joshua Kimmich all capable of playing at right-back, Max Eberl and co. have decided to let Mazraoui leave the club.

The impending sale of Mazraoui should help Bayern Munich continue their overhaul of the first-team squad. The Bavarians have already made three signings this summer, and will look to bring in more players before the summer transfer window closes.

In addition to Noussair Mazraoui, Manchester United are also interested in signing center-back Matthijs de Ligt from Bayern Munich. But it remains to be seen if the two clubs will be able to reach an agreement on the transfer fee.
